yo! (ahem) having been given an mp3 by my little one for my birthday i downloaded all sorts of stuff, and one of them was the song 'i wanna be your dog' by the stooges.
i have to admit that Ive never owned the best stereos in the world and the mp3 player was the first time i had heard the song in a digital format, mind you i had not heard many of the songs digitally and heard sounds on records for the first time in songs i had listened to for years.
anyway after a few listens i realised that if you take the guitar and vocals away from 'i wanna be your dog' you are left with a song that wouldn't sound out of place in a Woolworth's Xmas advert on TV, the song is full of tambourines and jingle sleigh bells! yet just by adding a guitar and Iggy pop's vocals the song becomes completely different, i am well impressed, i could even hear noddy holder screaming "its Christmas" during the song. pure genius.
and i think Woolworth's should seriously look at sampling it for the next Christmas season (which is due to start about august!).
