MUSLIM AND JEWISH PUNK

Over in America where they really do lead horrid lives in many places and where racial types are lumped in together apart from other races (just the type of kindling needed for disaffected youth who get to mix with others only by viewing them through a fence or in passing at a walmart) movements are going to be fomented in these closed cultures, not allowed to mix (by official policy) there emerges a feeling of brotherhood and shared feelings among these marginalised people, and that is just the reason why there has been a Muslim punk scene bubbling away for some time unnoticed by all except by those in the know. and now the bands are starting to break out of their government imposed racially singular neighbourhoods and into the outside world.
And what in the world could be more radical than a Muslim punk scene?
admittedly, if they did their punk thing in some Islamic countries they would be imprisoned and tortured for a long time for treason and blasphemy but they are not in such a place, they are in the land of the free. although the country they live in has unofficially declared their faith its moral enemy.
This situation makes these bands important as a snapshot of what it is like to live in a place that passively thinks of you as its enemy and as a tax paying citizen and at the same time. the bands protest about the repression and constraints that they feel within their own societies and faith, and the greater repression of the Muslim world in general, that there is Muslim punks is no surprise to me and i hope that some of the bands will come to Britain to play some gigs soon because i would be interested in what they had to say and their way of saying it (Asian music must have had an influence on their music, consciously or not). anyway, good luck to the bands and their scene and i hope the general punk scene is a bit more welcoming of them than it was of the 'gay punk' scene.
and on the other side of the scroll we have a Jewish skinhead scene going on , i cant tell you how many bands it has but i know that JEWDRIVER are not alone,

i wonder what would happen if these bands played gigs together which is what they would be doing in an ideal punk world but I'm sure that what with people being people there would almost certainly be some kind of not niceness that starts when one idiot decides that the bloke next to him is guilty for all the crimes ever committed and I'm sure there would be more than a few in the audience that agreed with him, worth a try though!
