So, STEVE IGNORANT 'and friends' will be performing the 'feeding of the 5.00' in its initiatory, so its a 25 minute set then! in reality there will be other CRASS songs played as well, and although STEVE IGNORANT has a notice on his website that says that "CRASS will never reform" I'm sure he will be joined on stage by at least one other member, although who is anybodies guess, since Mr ignorant has played with CONFLICT, the STRATFORD MERCENARIES and SWARCHENEGGER I'm sure a member or two will also appear on stage with him.
i also saw an early copy of the advert and it included the names of ZOUNDS and FLUX OF PINK INDIANS although they are now absent from the advert for the gig.
and before the cries of "crass were hippies" start to come this way, don't bother because i find that idea daft, was it because some members were older than eater? in which case the UK SUBS, VIBRATORS, STRANGLERS, DEAD BOYS, and many others must be also 'hippie bands, or was it their vegetarian stance? then THE ADVERTS were also hippies seeing as bassist Gaye advert was an outspoken advocate of animal rights from the start of their career, or is it their pacifism? if that is the case then DISCHARGE, GBH and BROKEN BONES must also be hippies. the 'hippie' argument is just shit and totally ignores their music which no one could accuse of being hippie music. i know i will be going, i was always one of those who could listen to the 4-SKINS and CRASS and it made no difference to me, you don't have to agree with all bands politics to like them. still it will be interesting to see and i wonder if STEVE will transform into his STEVE INTELLIGENT persona so that he can croon us his version of the 'Alfie' song for an encore? wouldn't that be a good finish! but beware there may be 'beat poetry' at any time!
