HIGHSTREET PUNK, PAH

I know I'm a bit late with this one but Ive got a good reason, what i have to say is how appalled i am that the peasants high street clothes chain H&M who have for up to two years been selling 'hoodie' tops (i hate that 'hoodie' term with a vengeance) with the Ramones name and logo on the back, it wouldn't be so bad if Ramones fans were wearing them but they have become a fashionable top worn by the average teen hip hop fan who has no idea who the Ramones are and would rather cross the road than walk near a punk.
you can see why i didn't know about the tops, what with H&M not being the sort of shop a grown man of punky tastes would visit to buy clothes, unless i wanted to dress like a moody teenager in 'goth lite' fingerless black gloves, black lipstick, skull and cross bones bra's and cobweb patterned tights, which isn't my style, honest!
it happens so often, when a band splits or the song writer dies and the 'owners of the estate' exploits the name and memory of the band without any shred of respect for the band or fans who made the band in the first place, the same is currently happening with Joe Strummer who is going through the same process as Elvis and bob Marley went through where a few people with their grubby hands on 'the rights' turn the person or band into nothing but a sales item,
in Joe Strummers case it is especially sad.
i wouldn't be the least surprised to hear that a letter had been sent to the Vatican asking for the canonisation of poor old Joe who would of hated the 'voice of a generation' industry that is being built round his name and music, Strummer was no saint by his own admission and would of laughed in the face of anybody who had tried to turn him into this centuries version of john Lennon/nelson Mandela while he was alive, its cynical shit big time (guy).
let him and the others rest in peace for fucks sake.
