Congratulations to all who had a great time at the stoke newington festival last Sunday, it was a great day out and was full of people enjoying themselves, something you don't see much of anymore.
but first I'm told that i must apologise for the behaviour of our resident ambassador who I'm told spent most of the day resplendent in his pink 'little willies' sex pistols tee-shirt and who was seen with a mysterious polo like object round one nostril and was barely able to stand up most of the time as is his wont!
the climax of the day was when the terrifically shambolic 'tofu love frogs' played a great set, their 'diddly punk' was being played with much gusto and sounded great, we even had the spectacle of watching the pigs (man) getting all rough on the ground with this big bloke, and for a moment I'm sure i could see a momentary flash of panic on the coppers faces as the nosey crowd all pushed and pulled in an effort to get a better look.
the funny thing was that the bloke was a right big'un at the 6 footish mark, quite wide and was wearing a bright red top yet he had still been able to spend the day leading the police on a merry chase.
the coppers had spent most of the day running round blindly looking for what amounted to a big man in bright red, not the easiest man in the world to hide yet he had managed the feat for quite a while, you could see by the pissed off and red puffed out police faces that this bloke had given the coppers the right run-around. and with all the witnesses watching the coppers were a bit reluctant to be very rough with the bloke (who by all accounts had been stealing things off people or something like that, if anyone knows any different then please tell us and we will be glad to correct it), luckily most of the 'hardcore' lot were a bit away at the stage front watching the 'love frogs' and releasing their energies dancing and not throwing bottles (there were kids in prams, people asleep and passed out so trouble would of been bad news all round) and the big bloke was led away without any trouble, soon after, the tofu love frogs finished their set, graced us with an encore and then the day was over.
the only other memorable fun was when we squashed and rolled some sainsburys chocolate brownies into pretend dog turds which looked frighteningly real and a couple of us pretended to take bites from it while it sat on the grass along a main drag way much to the audible disgust of passers by who really thought people were really eating a lump of dog shit, that amused me greatly, and shows that you are never to old to need growing up! a great day out and zero hour cant wait for the next park festival.
p.s, we are sorry for saying that it would be held in clissold park last week, that is in the other side of london, a stupid mistake sorry.
and a hello to everyone met that day.
