PUNK 'ANTHEMS'. ON FREE TV, ive seen the light.

I was about to groan In despair at the music chosen for the 'UKTV history' channels Rome season's latest choice of music to advertise a show about Hannibal and how he lugged his elephants over the alps, advertised to the strains of ' i fought the law' by the clash, which was again badly picked because everybody knows that the song would be perfect for a programme about Spartacus! and with that i realised that i had been going about it all wrong.
What i need to do is get the job of picking the soundtracks, already i have filled my tiny mind with many tracks that I'm sure you will agree fit the programmes. for example, we could use the 4skins 'plastic gangsters' every time the queen Vic is featured in Eastenders, and its main theme could be 'oi oi oi' by the cockney rejects, coronation street could have 'boredom' by the Buzzcocks, and a subtle 'where have all the bootboys gone?' by slaughter and the dogs for Fred Elliot's theme, theme i said, theme!
Even conflict's 'stand up and fucking fight' would make wonderful music for prime ministers question time.(im really starting to warm to this idea).
Crossroads could be brought back to the sounds of motorheads 'iron horse' (think about it) and , then there's the Ramones 'beat on the brat' for blue peter.
it could go on, kiddies favourite naughty kid 'Tracy beaker' could have the anti nowhere leagues 'so what' as its theme. errr... oh, i know, uktv history could use skrewdriver and chingford attack songs to advertise Hitler documentaries, and later stranglers and banshees songs could be used as back round music to those bizarre 'infomercial' TV channels.
the mind boggles at the endless possibilities, but i think I'm going to leave it at that because I'm afraid of what I'm thinking, I'm rambling on to no end, so i will stop.
