This article is also an open letter aimed at the stupid ignorant know nothing spiteful cunts who have waged a back room campaign against CHELSEA's singer GENE OCTOBER for no other reason than utter hate and stupid ignorance.
For some time now there has been a hate campaign against Mr October, with anonymous callers phoning up venues and promoters with wild accusations that GENE OCTOBER is an "aids carrier and that booking his band will leave the dressing rooms and venues him and his band have used sites of dangerous infection where just going into a room after him will give someone aids", the hate campaign has also included 'warnings' to other bands to keep away from CHELSEA written on backstage walls and passed on by word of mouth.
This sick hate campaign has gone on for a few years now and has even been taken seriously by some (it has been common knowledge for some years now that the HIV/AIDS virus dies 10 seconds after leaving the body and can only live at the regulated body warmth while in the blood of the body).
homophobia is not something you would expect from the punk scene, especially as there has been quite a few gay punk band members (who i wont name because i don't want to feed a hateful fire) who have become respected because of their music and their bands.
So a new hate campaign against a punk singer who has for 30 years never hidden his sexual preference is shameful to all involved in punk, i know this hate campaign is true because as well as being told by a few people myself, i was told by the best mate/roadie of a well known and good band i know who has seen the backroom hate graffiti written in large letters in changing room walls, i wont name him because i don't wish to get him or his band involved in this shit.
All i have to say now is that who ever is responsible for this evil hate should be hounded out of the punk scene and shown up for the ignorant hate filled cunt/s that he/they are,
And zero hour wishes GENE OCTOBER and CHELSEA all the best and we hope that this shit hasn't done the band any harm.
