If you are a fan of ska or of free days out then you are in luck because next week, Sunday the 15th of July sees the 'rise' festival happening in finsbury park.
Top ska band and long timers THE SKA-TALITES will be playing at the main stage at 7.40pm but before that you could pop down to the 'union city bus' tent where the TROJAN SOUND SYSTEM are holding court (there is a 'special guest' booked to appear at 5pm), but if you get bored of that (and stepping over mentally regressed ketamine filled crusties) you could always pop down to the main stage at 3.45pm to go and say hello to 'china' ken Livingstone (like china hes given up on 'red' politics) and tell him your opinions on how hes made such a glorious mess of London's roads, plus I'm sure you have more than just that, that you want to share with him! but be quick because i cant imagine him hanging around for long. any way, if it doesn't rain then I'm sure it will be a nice day even if they stupidly haven't had the foresight to book THE TOFU LOVE FROGS to play at any of the stages which is a shame.
