I just wanted to add to the article below about THE RUTS gig that the other song they played that i couldn't think of was 'something that i said'.
And i couldn't not mention the much missed singer MALCOLM OWEN and that although he was missed from the nights line up HENRY ROLLINS did a good job of 'covering' for him and did the band proud in MALCOLM OWEN'S place.
that's all.
No its not, i thought it wasn't a good idea to try and go to the packed backstage area (despite my mate being good friends with 'SEGGSY' the RUTS bassist because i didn't think that it was very dignified to go backstage and watch an ill man puffing into an oxygen mask (it was his dignity not mine i was thinking of by the way).
i thought poor MR FOX was best left alone with his friends, but i did see the guitarist from ARGY BARGY and COCKSPARRER coming out from the backstage area and i wanted to ask him why COCKSPARRER wont play London, but i had a pissed up old mate hugging me with his sweat soaked body and slobbering "i love you mate, i ain't seen you since XXX's funeral i really love ya mate, i broke my little girls leg at the weekend, i was only playing with her and i hurt her, i was straight down the hospital, i feel so bad, i love you mate" (sounds more like he was E'ed up), and by the time i had pulled myself away, the 'SPARRER man was long gone.
oh well there goes my chance of a big 'scoop'!
P.S (days later)- Anyone who has read this before will know that i spelt THE RUTS bassist's name wrong, its SEGGSY not BEGGSY,thanks to my french/Corsican 'mon ami' (luv ya man) and his eagle eyes i have corrected it, i made the mistake because we were with a bloke called BEGGSY and thats why i got the names wrong, thank you Marc and a big vive le entante cordial to you!
