We are going to start this by saying that we are not accusing anyone of taking bribes, we just thought the old cop show line that criminals gave to the police in a bad attempt to bribe them made for a good headline, even though it does have a rough connection with the subject under discussion- a bit. (i hope that gets the legal side dealt with! ha ha)
what we are on about is the little 'donation' icon on the top of the 'talkshit'- sorry 'punktalk' website.
zero hour cannot understand why a website that relies on other people to fill it with articles has to ask for donations? is it for 'the cause'? or maybe it really is for their 'christmas fund', who knows? i couldnt see an explanation of what it is being collected for, although im sure there might be one! after all if you look at it, there isn't much to it, just a list of 'forums' to visit and leave a comment on.
the main page isn't much either, anyone with computer knowledge could do it in a day with the right equipment (and as they have just updated the look of the website they obviously have), and any real punk who is into the idea would do it for nothing, fuck, even people not into punk (e.g computer geeks, -its been offered to me!) would do it just for the excuse of having a go at a computer.
when zero hour was offered the chance we had to turn it down because of a lack of the right equipment (and it was offered to us for free) otherwise we wouldn't be in this 'blog style' (though we are grateful to the blog owners for giving us the space, and for not censoring us either!) but we see no reason to be asking for donations, the running of a decent website can be done on a shoestring budget and all that is really needed is a bit of time, and we all have that if we want it, just turn off the TV and stop dreaming of being a dot com millionaire.
donations? i wouldn't give em the steam off my piss!
