I have to admit that i have just brought this record (again) after selling it many years ago so that i could buy a new record, (something i now regret badly because I'm still buying back records that i now wish i hadn't sold), and i am so glad that i did get it again.
I was spurned on to getting it again by owning a copy of the 'latest' single to be released by THE 101'ERS (letsgetabito'rocking) on the 'Andalusia' label.
The record was not recorded as an album but is a collection of songs by the band that were personally picked by the bands members (with the help of old Joe). the songs show what a great diverse band they were and their songs range from full on rocking tunes to songs that CLASH fans would recognise from the SANDINISTA LP to raw rockabilly and 'punky' sounding songs.
It is a short LP (not unlike the first CLASH LP in that respect) and some of the recordings are a bit rough. but it is an exciting album none the less, and one i would recommend to any one who likes their music to be a bit rough'n'ready round the edges, but if you like your music a bit more 'produced' then you could always go out and buy the remixed version of the LP (elgin avenue breakdown remixed!) that has also been reissued, you could also have a look at what my street looked like in the mid 1970's on the band photo on the back of the non-remixed LP (show off).
