a review- THE JAM UNSEEN. book of photos by 'twink', on cyan books

This is a new book that is meant for the 'coffee table' market and apart from the forewords (by Bruce foxton and Rick buckler and one from the 'author'), it is in fact just a book of unseen photos of the band during their last year (1982) and shows the band on stage, backstage and in the streets and tour coach.
to be honest the photos are boring and don't show much except the reluctance of Paul Weller having to be photoed next to his band members unless he had to (see the look on his face when he has had to).
the book contains 250 odd photos of no interest and would give even the most devoted JAM fan a hard time to keep interested (i suspect that the photos have remained 'unseen' because they are boring to look at, it was hard for me not to just flip through it in seconds and not review it properly).
there is no captions to the photos which don't help and the 'fan club' shots would only be of interest to the kids (now adults) in the pictures.
all in all i think this book holds nothing of interest to JAM fans of any era and reveals nothing new and at £20 it is nothing short of a waste of money and trees (plus i think a bit of a rip off), not to mention effort, this is just an over priced book that I'm sure is meant for the Christmas market (we were able to get hold of a review copy by luck) and i advise people to avoid it at any cost (unless you like photos of the same men singing into microphones page after page).
this book is a total waste of time and money in our opinion.
but if you want to have a look then it is printed by cyan books.

Actually, the Jam Unseen book is amazing, so much so that the Movie Poster Gallery in London is hosting The Jam Unseen Photographic Exhibition. I'd say the photos are not doing too badly. Besides, you're just an old punk rocker with bad vision. Reach for your reading glasses Grandad.
