Like the title says, another reason why i don't compile gig listings very often is because of the wrong dates, venues and even bands that people pass on to me for inclusion in articles. Take the EATER listing below, now i was told it was in the old AKLAM HALL when it isn't Ive now been told, it is/was held in fact further down the westway nearer LADBROKE GROVE, funnily enough (for all you punk anorak's out there) the venue is at the place in the film BREAKING GLASS where there is a big battle between Nazi skins and anti Nazi protesters there to watch HAZEL OCONNOR'S band as they play an anti Nazi 'festival'.
Anyway, i went down to the old AKLAM HALL and it was a ghost town, it wasnt till i got home again that i realised that the venue could only have been at the place that was formally a pool club (and is now a place where 'trendy' coke addled house music fans go to to hear some mellow soulful grooves.
That is the bloody reason, because gig listing can lead people down dark alleys to nowhere, like i have been to and hopefully not done to anyone, if you did go without checking first then you are as stupid as me!
