IAN CURTIS- THE MOVIE

As many of you probably know by now (i found out while i was ill vomiting like a mad thing and floating in and out of consciousness, not nice) that 'they' are making a film about JOY DIVISION singer IAN CURTIS.
I cant see this as being a heart warming story because of CURTIS' mental state and his sad ending, although I'm sure it will have some funny and interesting scenes featuring the band who were around during MANCHESTER'S punk scene as it started and we should be in for a few amusing 'sposed to be' actors playing band members (and I'm sure the SEX PISTOLS will be featured playing their famous MANCHESTER gigs put together by and featuring the BUZZCOCKS playing their debut.
But as i said, i cant see this as a film that will be a fun watch thinking about it, despite the interesting 1970's period and the scene that was gripping MANCHESTER at a time of musical and artistic explosion.
But IAN CURTIS was a private person would of done anything to stop himself becoming subject of a cinema film and is probably spinning in his grave at a rate of mph's as you read this, IAN CURTIS was not a well man and so for his families sake i hope they don't make another SID'N'NANCY style film about him.
Although a film centered around CURTIS is not ideal, it is an over due recognition of JOY DIVISION and their music and lyrics, record packaging, influence, the lot.
JOY DIVISION were a great band who were able to become big yet were part of a system (FACTORY) that wobbled from calamity to calamity due in part from being run in a SITUATIONIST inspired way, that and the label people didn't know what they were doing a lot of the time, yet the bands music was able to rise above that.
IAN CURTIS and JOY DIVISION deserve a decent memorial not a hatchet job, not like SID'N'NANCY as i said.
i hope its an OK film but i have my doubts!
