THE PUNK 'NET SCENE'.

I was talking to someone i know who is also involved in the Internet 'punk scene', and the thing we seemed to share was the feeling of an unfriendly, gut-throat attitude that sometimes involved dirty tricks coming from other websites, i wasn't alone!
We both got the impression that there was a lot of jealousy going on and that 'punk sites' were desperate to grab the 'visitors' from each others sites.
It was was agreed be me and my friend that this is a very sad state of affair's and that its not very 'punk' at all. in fact it is nothing less than petty bollocks.
What makes these site runners think that their site will be the only one visited by people anyway?
Most people go from site to site and don't stick to just the one, and so they should, and so should these sites give space to all other sites, not just ones that will "scratch my back if i scratch yours".
Personally i am happy to direct anyone to any site they want to visit that i think may be of interest, i don't bemoan (or care about) the fact someone may spend longer at another site than mine, good luck to them (an opinion i share), i harbour no resentment or childlike jealousy that i might be losing visitors too another site by mistakenly adding their list to my blog zine, just the opposite, I'm happy to turn someone on to a new site.
I (and my friend) are just happy to do what we do and hopefully are free of this jealousy ridden attitude among so called 'punk-sites' (my friend wished to remain nameless in case 'they' were 'locked out' of other sites) and it affects their site by being in agreement with me, i understand this and am Happy enough not to mention names, i just wish that the 'net punk scene' was not such a sad, ego driven and childish 'scene', though, it is a shame and it is also amazing how many sites think of themselves as THE punk website, above all others when in fact they are all (including zero hour) just small minnows swimming in a very large and full sea of websites, and none should even try and claim the high ground, it just shows how low they really are.
P.S i want to make it clear that i do not include every punk site on the web (some are very good), just the shit childish ones.
