FLOGGING A DEAD GOTH

THE MISSION are back! now don't you all jump joyously away from your computers, spinning in your chairs, arms aloft and with a cry of "yessss" on your lips at once.
Oh, you didn't, well nor did i funnily enough.
Anyway THE MISSION have returned with some live dates and have come up with a good idea to ring the fans dry without charging a fuck off price of £42.50p like THE VIAGRA PISTOLS have, the goths have been much cleverer than that, what they have done is to play a gig for every LP they made and are devoting a night for every one to be played live, plus the 'b'-sides of the albums singles.
Now isn't that a better way to ring your fans dry? well, those who like all of your albums that is.
One night they haven't announced and are probably not playing is a best of/ greatest hits gig, that way fans who only liked a couple of their songs could go without having to listen to songs they don't like (what about if someone got their LP's mixed up? they would have to listen to a whole album they knew they didn't like).
And aren't many album tracks only there just for the sake of being fillers? ones the band would never think about playing live? (unless you are THE MISSION), many bands have written songs that were never played live and were meant just for the sake of filling space on a record, for no other reason, so a band playing a night for every LP is for 'diehard fans' only i would of thought.
And I'm sure i would be fretting about what nights to go to if i were a MISSION fan, oh yes.
And speaking of old goths, MS SIOUXSIE (without THE BANSHEES) is playing live, i can imagine that MS SIOUX will be doing some kind of watered down ' LIZA MINNELLI in CABARET' show mixed with African drumming, eastern wind instruments and lots of lights and flowing drapes, and of course, with lots of SIOUXSIE'S style of lady crooning, i can see it now.
I'm sure the night will be one to remember.
(and I'm probably totally wrong about the stage show but who cares?)
