I know that i will get 'grandad' and such jokes at my mentioning of radio 4, and i don't blame you, after all it does have that 'middle aged middle England' image.
But you would be surprised at what they sometimes have on it, this week it has the autobiography of JOOLZ HOLLAND. today's 'chapter' features JOOLZ' life from early 1977 and when they meet MILES COPELAND, release their first (and best!) single the' PACKET OF THREE' E.P on DEPFORD FUN CITY RECORDS (created to release the SQUEEZE single dontcha know! i didn't.), on to the 'up the junction'/ cool for cats' singles and on to PAULA YATES and THE TUBE TV show, there is other people mentioned from that era as well (boobtown prats, elvis.c, stiff rcds etc).
If you are interested you can hear it on RADIO 4's website for the next week or you can listen to it again later tonight, see TV/RADIO listings for times. anyway excuse my but i just have to go and rub some cream on before i change my dressings other wise it smells really bad and i have to go and have my toe nails cut, so if you don't mind sonny..
P.S, i just wanted to say that it is a shame that 'JOOLZ' didnt mention all the bands he played and recorded with during that time in 1977 but since it was only highlights of the book he was reading he wouldnt of had time to read anything else, oh well. but its still interesting enough, although im sure i will stop listening when he starts talking about his show and his 'great guest pals' like STING and so on..
or should i spell his name JOOLS? im sure it doesnt matter, you know im not talking about the poet woman.
