I have never understood why people would want t-shirts from gigs that they never went to, but i seem to be alone in this view because all over the place people can be seen wearing 'concert' tops that are new yet advertise an old or ancient gig that they never went near.
Now the latest t-shirt to become prey to this 'fad' is the one from the last RUTS/ROLLINS show, understandably the promoters of the night have re-pressed the nights top to sell to raise money for cancer research (and maybe PAUL FOX'S family, i don't know), while i can understand the reason for producing the top i cant see the reason for wearing it? "i liked the DVD so much i got the top"(?) is the only answer i can think of, and those who went to the gig but didn't get a top. but i suppose if there is demand there is supply - 'market forces' and all that, or maybe its to stop bootleggers.
oh well, who am i to say what people can wear? well, me because i have an opinion! anyway, the t-shirt looks like the one above and are selling for £15 (plus p&p) on eBay if you want one.
Don't get me wrong, i have no objection to people wearing the above or any other 'gig' tops, its just... they are made as "i was there" statements and i just don't understand why people would want a souvenir of a gig they didn't go to, that's all nothing else.
