"WE'RE GOING DOWN THE PARK"
Hooray, the sun has decided to come out and kiss our heads at last, and just in time as well because
this weekend there is a one day music bash at VICTORIA PARK in hackney, the event is
the thirtieth anniversary of the famous 'rock against racism' day when THE CLASH played, and along with JIMMY PURSEY did that famous version of 'white riot', a clip of which you see when ever there is a TV show about punk.
Back to the upcoming day, it is on Sunday 27 april (12-6pm) and is said to be featuring POLY STYRENE (funnily enough i found an old newspaper last week and it had a review of a gig X-RAY SPEX played in 1991 with 999, CHELSEA, SHAM69 and THE LURKERS. the review wasn't good but the gig was.). Anyway, theres also JERRY DAMMERS from THE SPECIALS and MICK JONES' new band (expect to hear a CLASH song ho ho) plus "loads of others t.b.a". (TOTALSHAMBLES were supposed to be playing as well but i doubt it what with PETE DOUGHBOY in wormwood scrubs).
As long as it doesn't rain it should be an alright day, and if you don't particularly like the SOCIALIST WANKERS PARTY or any of the 'leftist' groups behind 'R.A.R' then either don't come or just shut up and keep your '14 words' t-shirt at home (no one cares if you have learnt to read and write 14 words anyway, even though learning 14 words was hard work for you and you are proud of yourself for doing it.) same goes for soapy anarchists bleating on about the "failure of the left" yaaawn!
So just come on down to the plague pit they call 'VICTORIA PARK' and have a good time (hopefully) -most of the other open spaces in that part of London seem to be old plague pits so it stands to reason that VIC PARK must be one as well, innit (only joking me ol' bow bell cockerney muccas).
P.S, ZERO HOUR does not think it is clever or grown up for people to TURN UP WITH A BAG OF EGGS OR ROTTEN FRUIT AND THROW IT AT 'JIHAD' GEORGE GALLOWAY OR 'CHINA' KEN LIVINGSTONE, oh no, not at all, no no.
