X RAY SPECTACLE

If you read ZERO HOUR you will probably be familiar with the fact that i had a ticket reservation booked for the upcoming gig by X RAY SPEX at the roundhouse in wanker filled Camden (how could you not, i did blabber on about it for ages).
Up until a few weeks ago i was 'cock-a-hoop' at the thought of having a ticket even before they were printed. That smugness though, was royally slapped off my face however when the tickets were actually printed, why? Well, because of the price of them. When i was told how much they cost by the kind soul who reserved one for me it made my sphincter tighten.
The ticket price is £33 plus booking!!!!! now that is a lot, even by 2008 standards, i could go and see a pop group at a family friendly venue for that, NEW KIDS ON THE BLOCK are rumoured to be touring again, I'm sure i could get a ticket at the back of one of their shows for the same money or, i could get three copies of the 3 CD set of MAT MONROE 'classics'("at 48 tracks a bargain") that i saw advertised in a newspaper.
X REY SPEX played the ROUNDHOUSE quite a few times way back in the dim past, i bet the ticket prices were not a days (minimum wage) pay then.
Are the band sticking on a £ quid for every year that has gone since their 1970's demise out of spite at their lost youth?
I know the ticket price is steep, but i am sure i will enjoy the band, and after i will be able to say if i think it was worth the money or not, but at the moment, knowing X RAY SPEX can play every one of their songs in little over half an hour i am not so sure.
