SURPRISE SURPRISE!!
So, old DAME JOAN ROTTEN has consented to put his face on the nations screens in an advert for the very un-nihilistic product of 'butter'.
"SELL OUT" the nay saying residents of punkton have been crying, with much wailing and gnashing of green teeth, "most surely the rock of punk is dead" they bemoan as DAME JOANNY ROTTEN wraps himself in comedy 'lord of the manor' outfits in readiness for his wad of cash-err...winning performance flogging butter.
The main thing is not why LYDON has done an advert but, why it took him so long. Ad exec's have been offering LYDON money to appear in their adverts for years to no avail, i wonder what made him say yes to this one, do butter companies have more money than most to throw around? or does LYDON think that butter is a product that will be good for his (ahem) 'anarchistic image'? What ever the reason we can bet he got paid a tidy bundle, and who would say no to the silly money that appearing in an advert can generate?
Truthfully, is anyone really honestly surprised that LYDON has said yes to an advert?
