The tabloids carried a story the other day about MICK JONES from THE CLASH, the non-story centered around 'JONESY'S' TV habits particularly the financial reports that have been featured at the start of the news, apparently JONES is an avid watcher of these news items (we were not told why JONES watches these items but his share options would be a good guess), the story then went on to mention JOEY RAMONE and how he wrote a song about an American TV talking financial head, the moral of the tale being even old punks have been hit by the 'credit crunch'.
And they are not the only ones either, because yesterday GERRY COTT, a former member of THE BOOMTOWN RATS was on a financial TV show talking about how his dog breeding business was having money troubles, looking like LILY SAVAGE on his/her day off, the ex-RAT was wearing horn rimmed glasses, aged 'gay fashion' clothes and was striking the campest pose while his little lap dog sat at his feet. The dog was the sort that stupid people like to put nappies on and carry around in their arms. I wonder if he will be joining the new RATS on stage if his dog fucking business goes down the drain?
