P.I.L. and RICH KIDS gigs.

My oath to not bother going to see any reformed bands has been sorely tested by finding out that both the RICH KIDS and P.I.L. have reformed and are both soon going to be playing gigs (so far, there is only one gig announced by the RICH KIDS though). P.I.L. are playing in December, the RICH KIDS in January.
In as far as P.I.L. I know that if I look at the stage I will be disappointed with myself for going, but they have never been the most visual band in the world, I would be happy to have them play behind a curtain like they did in New York that time, although this time I doubt there would be a riot, a relief maybe.
P.I.L. are a band you don't have to stand up to watch, sitting down and not bopping about to P.I.L.'s music is easy enough for most of it.
(PHOTO -P.I.L 1978- I couldn't bear to look at a photo of the new line up, and a recent one of the RICH KIDS sounded too frightening.)
The RICH KIDS though are different, with them I would like to be where I could move about a bit, their music is more of a Rock'n'Roll 'dancey' style, I'm sure they would sound good, it's just that looking at those old farts singing about "kids" would remind me that this is a bunch of old men, not the young men of my youth.
My mental images of the RICH KIDS have a young, full headed Midge Ure with a RAMONES style mop top jumping about, not an old man with male patterned baldness arthritically  swinging his guitar a bit.
Then there is the issue of the support bands, Ive voiced my opinion about that issue more than once, but I doubt that it will be of benefit to any current, young punky or alternative/new wave band but I could be wrong.
The over riding issue is the music though, I never saw the RICH KIDS live, and would of liked to, in the film's of them live that I have seen they sounded good.
P.I.L. I have seen and live. I thought they were great, but that was before Dame Joanny Lydon started to use that 'yodelling' style of singing he now does live.
Had theRICH KIDS kept up some kind of irregular but occasional presence going we would of gradually been able to get used to seeing them age before us, both on stage and in photo's, but because they haven't got together for thirty years (apart from when the band were briefly reunited as guests on 'This is your life' when it featured Midge Ure. But that could hardly of been called a reunion, and that was over ten years ago, so age has had time enough to do it's thing.
Funnily enough, when greeting each other, I think it was Steve New who (jokey sounding) said "we haven't seen each other since that horrible punk band we used to be in", to which there was a laugh from Ure.
Has the banker created financial meltdown left one or two of the band in a state of financial jeopardy?  What has made them reappear now? Was there a 'reform the RICH KIDS' campaign petition going around? people with clip boards collecting signatures at gigs which they handed to the band members? I doubt it.
One, or two of the members suddenly finding themselves totally skint because his bank has failed or shares have become worthless is not impossible though. Or did they just think that they would have a slice of the 'reform industry' pie that has been coining it in of late, before it ran it's course?
What to do, what to do.
P.S.. I should say that I know know that the RICH KIDS reformed, using the guitarist of SPANDAU BALLET  (who was once asscciated with the band) as a replacement for the gig because guitarist STEVE NEW is ill and the proceeds from the gig are to go towards his health treatment.
So, sorry RICH KIDS.
